Vegetation of the class Parietarietea judaicae Rivas-Martinez in Rivas-Goday 1955

Abstract
A synataxonomic analysis of vail vegetation of the class Parietarietea judaicae in Croatia is made where it is limited in the first place to the Croatian littoral in the widest sense. This vegetation in the region investigated includes the association Asplenio-Umbilicetum horizontalis with two subassociations (subass. umbilicetosum horizontalis / = »typicum«/ and subass. veronicetosum cymbalariae) from the alliance Parietario-Galion murale.
From an ecological aspect, the subass. Asplenio-Umbilicetum horizontalis umbilicetosum horizontalis owergrows cracks in old walls and is developed on shady places inside house sites both in villages and towns. Phytogeographically this subass. is connected to the Eumediterranean vegetational zone, particularly to the region of mixed holm oak forests of the ass. Orno-Quercetum ilicis.
Subass. Asplenio-Umbilicetum horizontalis veronicetosum cymbalariae is connected to the dry walls in the first place in the Stenomediterranean vegetational zone and this primarily to the area of Alepo pine forests of the ass. Querco ilicis-Pinetum halepensis.
