Abstract

An in-depth insight into the professional literature and archive material leads the author to the discovery of data on a series of works which have been attributed to J. J. Klović, but which have since then disappeared from this country (graphics: »Woman in a Cloak« and »Peeping Tom«), as wel as works which are in Zagreb, associated with this master's name (the Missale of Bishop Simun Erdody, »The Abduction of Ganymede«, »Judith and Holofernes«, »Self Portrait«, quite similar to the self portrait now in the Kunsthistorisches Museurm in Vienna. These works are part of the collection of the Strossmayer Gallery in Zagreb. There is a note on the need for in-depth analysis of the problem posed by the painting »The Entombment« which is identical in invention to Klović's version of the same theme in a private collection in Milan.
