Abstract

The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of partial defoliation (D), as usual practice in modern grapevine production, solarization (S) which impact is still poorly investigated, and combination of these two treatments (D+S) on total polyphenols and total anthocyanins content in wines of red cultivars Pinot noir and Cabernet sauvignon (Vitis vinifera L.) wines. Treatments had no influence on sugar content in grapes, but affected lower titratable acidity of both cultivars. Treatments also increased total polyphenols and total anthocyanins concentrations in all experimental wines, except in Cabernet sauvignon solarization wines, where these increase was not significant.
