Abstract
The meatiness of the carcass was investigated in two groups of hogs. The hogs were progenies of the three AB hypor boars which were mated with CD hypor sows (total 49 hogs) and the same AB hypor boars were mated with Swedish landrace sows (total 42 hogs). The first boar (A) had 23 (13 of CD sows + 10 of the SL sows), the second boar (B) 22 (9 of CD sows + 13 of SL sows) and the third boar C 46 (27 of CD sows + 19 of SL) dissected progenies. The progenies of the CD sows had signifficantly higher percentage of muscle tissue in the carcass than prodenies of the SL sows, 54.8 and 52.08 respectively. Hower, the progenies of boar B (9+13) were not significantly different, even the progenies of swedish landrace sows had 0.81 higher percentage of muscle tissue in the carcass, but differences were not significant. The progenies of the second boar (B) and the swedish landrace sows had signifficantly higher percentage of muscle tissue than progenies of boar A. The percentage of muscle tissue of the progenies were not statisticaly signifficant with in the group of CD hypor sows.
