Abstract

Fertilizing fruit trees is an important agrotechnical measure which is used to maintain the necessary level of nutrients in the soil. The soil in an orchard should be fertilized in order for fruit trees to develop properly and to maintain their yield. The most important elements in plant nutrition are nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus. The soil in an orchard is fertilized by mineral fertilizers, but also by organic fertilizers, farmyard manure and/or compost. Fertilization of fruit trees is divided into basic fertilization, early spring fertilization and supplemental fertilization. Fertilizer input into the soil is conducted simultaneously with tillage.
