Abstract

Cabbage-like vegetables present a significant group of vegetables used both fresh and as products in nutrition. Because of their nutritious and biological value, the production should be organized in a way that a sufficient number of various sorts of cabbage-like vegetables can be provided throughout the year. The fact that the production of cabbagelike vegetables can be organized throughout the year is enabled by their modest requests for warmth and by their good endurance of low temperatures. Brussels sprouts, kale, cabbage and late cabbage are highly resistant to low temperatures. These cultures can quite often be seen covered with snow, so they can be picked little by little directly from gardens for the needs of both households and local markets.
