Abstract

This review takes closer look into the meaning of concentrated feeds in feeding of highly productive milk goats in all stages of reproductive cycle, from gravidity till the end of lactation, and into influence of concentrated feeds intake on roughage intake. Goats are ruminants and major part of their diet should contain rough forages, but high production of milk cannot be obtained without using concentrated feeds, neither during lactation, nor in the last phase of gravidity. Goats are showing the best respond on the increased level of concentrates the during the early lactation, while in the late lactation the response is bad. Greater amount of concentrate in the diet for goats is mostly approved for goats with high production of milk.
