Abstract

In the south-eastern part of Yugoslavia ,i.e. in Macedonia, Serbia, North- asrtern Bosnia and Eastern Slavonia the most dadages are caused by Verticilium alboatrum Reinke et Berth., Phytophtora caps-ici Leonian Stolbur and cucumber mosaic virus. In the valey of South and West Morava Rivens, in teh upper part of the other traditionally red pepper growing regions the, soils are severely infected by the cited parasites which are rether new parasites in Yugoslavia. The parasites are domicile in Metohina and Macedonla form where they further spread toward north and west parts of Yuguslavia. The parasit Stolbur appears vehemently periodically in the dry years in Serbia. In the oast two gradations of red pepper Stolbur have been reported: the first one form 1951- to 1956 and the second form 1961 to 1968. Cucumber mossaic is generaly spread carusing the vehement damages in Vojvodina on the red pepper produced directly from the seed. There exist the sourses of rasistance of red pepper to V. albo-atrum, P. capsici and to cucumber mosaic virurs. No resistent genes to Storbur have been found as yet. In the species Capsicum annum L. the high resistance to V. albo-atrum posess the variety Podarok Moldovi and the line 708. Resistance to P. capsici posess the descendants P.I. 129469,P.I.201232 and P.I. 201234 and the resistance to cucumber mosaic virus posess the varieties Antibois and Val. Among the other resistant genes posessing are the sorts: Capsicum furtenses (resist to V.albo-atro-atro to cucumber mosaic virus) P.I 250771 an I.P -1 and Capsicum angulosum and Capsicum spp. from Columbia resistant to V. albo-atrum and Capsicum pendulum (P.M. 325-Pendulum-3) resistant to cumber mosaic virus.
