Abstract
Under the International Convention Relating to the Arrest of Sea-Going Ships of 1952,
a ship may be arrested in respect of any maritime claim. Above other things, a maritime
claim means a claim arising out of loss of life caused by any ship or occurring in connection
with the operation of any ship. The claim as subject matt er of insurance relates
to the damages due to the death of a dock worker. Ship arrest is allowed if intended for
ensuring such claim.
