Abstract

Archaeological research was conducted at two position in Sotin – Srednje polje and Zmajevac in August and September 2015. Two trenches were explored at Srednje polje – Vašarište, measuring an area of 546 m2. Parts of a Copper Age settlement were discovered, eight graves from the Late Bronze Age and Early Iron Age, parts of road infrastructure from Roman era and parts of an early medieval settlement with furnaces and workshops. An edge of a Late La Tène and parts of a late medieval settlement were discovered at Zmajevac. Further research in Sotin will try to find answers regarding the position of early and late cemeteries from Bronze and Iron Age at Srednje polje as well as the location of a Late La Tène settlement with a cemetery at Zmajevac.
