Abstract

Reproduction of roses by generative means is used primarily for stock production. The main problem in this case is dormancy. Presence of inhibitors and hard pericarp of rose nucula is reported to be the main cause of dormancy. In the last few years, the influence of several factors has been studied in order to improve germination. These factors include temperature, light, harvest date, compost activator, sulfuric acid and enzymes.
