ACHIEVEMENTS OF DEKALB GENETICS CORPORATION IN CORN BREEDING

Abstract
Company DEKALB was found in 1912. Since 1924 company works on investigations and breeding of corn. ln Croatia they are present since 1990 through testing of new hybrids. In 1995 the first DEKALB hybrids was registred in Croatia and they started with the commercialization. Now in registred in Croatia and they started with they commercialization. Now in Croatia four DEKAlB hybrids are registred. In 1996. four more hybrids past official tests and they have a big chance to be registred. DEKALB Genetics Corponation more then 20 years works on biotechnology researchs in corn breeding. The high investments in biotehnology researchs resulted with first commericialisations of insect and herbicide resistant corn hybrids in USA.
