Abstract

From the results of studying winter wheat MARIJA (SE) = foundation class produced on the basis of progeny testing, then MARIJA (OG) = foundation class produced by reselection method and MARIJA (AT) = off-type plants, the following can be concluded: - the tested forms considerably differed in the achieved level of homogeneity because of the off-type plants. - taxonomicaly off-type plants differ from the basic from by notably higher stalks. - the class of MARIJA (SE), produced on the basis of progeny testing of some 5000 selected spikes during one year displayed the highest level of crop homogeneity. – MARIJA (OG) did not achieve satisfactory crop homogeneity. - even higher stalks have been recorded in MARIJA (AT). - MARIJA (OG) did not achieve satisfactory crop homogeneity. - even higher stalks have been recorded in MARIJA (AT). - MARIJA (AT) expressed higher yield potential, higher grain quality and considerably higher stalks in comparison with MARIJA (OG). MARIJA (AT) also achieved higher yield potential, 1000 kernel weight and displayed taller stalks as compared to MARIJA (SE), but hectoliter weight and sedimentation value were on the level of MARIJA (SE). - the tested forms of MARIJA did not differ in vegetation length.
