Abstract

The primary aim of this paper is to point out the basic characteristics and the importance of factor analysis, as well as to investigate the possibility of its application in measuring the quality of higher education services, especially in identifying its key dimensions and quality attributes. Numerous dimensions and attributes, which can be used to describe and define the quality of a higher education service, indicate the multidimensionality of its structure. In order to determine the structure of the quality of a higher education service, the authors have examined these dimensions and attributes as a group of variables, since the dimensions of an educational service are multidimensional and enable the application of different quantitative techniques, especially the method of multivariate analysis. Taking into account the fact that measuring quality in higher education institutions includes measuring quality based on student expectations and perceptions, a factor analysis was conducted of the main components – both of the expectation and perception scale, all for the purpose of simplifying the complex structure of the research issue, and extracting the factors of a higher education service.
