Abstract

During the graduate study at the Faculty of Architecture, the Department of Urban and Physical Planning and Landscape Architecture courses regularly have topics related to the society and environmental changes. The causes for these changes are observed as a whole with some proposals for their improvements and possible interventions. The chosen topic is very contemporary - the process of residents moving out of historic city and settlement centers, with single tourism uses and accommodation moving in (examples of Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, ...). The book presents the work of students, along with expert guest lecturers and field work, who attempted to explore this topic and propose suggestions how to slow down these processes, taking for an example the affirmation of Zadar historic nucleus.
