Abstract

Multi-word lexical units are an open issue in modern lexicography. This work is an attempt at defining multi-word lexical units taking into consideration the similarities and differences of their presentation in monolingual and multilingual dictionaries, with a particular reference to specialized dictionaries. The analysis includes such issues as classification of multi-word lexical units according to their linguistic form and semantic structure, methods of their selection from the corpus, and their status in the dictionary macrostructure and microstructure. Multi-word lexical units are analyzed and compared both in general and specialized dictionaries, where Croatian is either target or source language.
