ANDRIJA KAČIĆ MIOŠIĆ AND HIS ENLIGHTENING AND LINGUISTIC CONTRIBUTIONS

Abstract

In the history of Croatian literature and cultural activitiy at all Andrija Kačić Miošić and his Pismarica – Razgovor ugodni naroda slovinskog play an extremely important
role. Andrija Kačić Miošić, the Old Man Milovan was active in the eighteenth century and was remarkable for a wide range of activities, from clerical, philosophical, educational to historical and literary pursuits. However, he was engaged in enlightening work more than
anything else and he achieved - precisely in this field – the greatest success. Furthermore, his linguistic contributions achieved in Razgovor ugodni naroda slovinskog actually bond pre-revival and revival period and show the achieved level of our linguistic homogeneity – a peculiar standardization of the Croatian language in the middle of the eighteenth century.
