Abstract

Today the tourism of Croatia is faced with the greatest challenge ever in its many years of development. There is a crucial need to create new market positions in order to secure the further coordinated development of tourism in the long run. It is imperative for Croatian tourism to make the move towards quality improvement and destination differentiation.
Processes in the nature environment supported by the trend of sustainable development are one of the important aspects of globalization. The essence of sustainable development lies in the interaction of human and manufactured resources that should be spurred by the new approach to entrepreneurship. This includes defining the standards and models vital to economic development.
To this effect, proposals have been made for the transformation of the educational system, which should serve to propel this development. The organizing of the system of permanent education deserves special attention, as this system is the only means by which it is possible the impact on the transformation of the present structure of management in the tourism of Croatia.
