Abstract

Toxoplasmosis is a zoonoses caused by Toxoplasma gondii which occurred throughout the world. The prevalence in our country is not sufficiently determined. Serologic examination by detecting Toxoplasma-specific antibodies IgM and IgG including IgG avidity index are performed in Institute of Public Health Zadar which is our first accredited clinical microbiological laboratory. In Zadar county from 2009 to 2015 were examined 2.156 human serum specimens and there were 23,83% positive results on T. gondii. Although, obtained results are lower than the average in our country, nevertheless multiple lower than some other areas, they indicate that toxoplasmosis is very significant disease which needs to be solved on the level of public health.
