Abstract

The aim is to show the changes that have swept the global book industry as a result of the technological innovation and the emergence of post-industrial societies. The digitalization of manufacturing process and the convergence of the entire media industry has brought about profound changes in production, distribution and consumption of media products. Post-modern society and the transformation of capitalism has opened the door to new media and technology
solutions. In parallel with the process of creating a new media platforms, old media platforms were not completely extinct, but were moved to the new industrial society. The process of transformation of the media industry most affected the book industry as its oldest segment. The structure of the production mode changes and use of products and services within the post-industrial societies, called into question the accuracy and sharpness of the interpretation of technological determinism. The post-modern societies have blurred precise boundaries that brought in connection technological development and level of development of the community.
