Abstract

SUMMARY: Reliable information is the key element in the decision-making process. Access to objective and unbiased information is possible by conducting a detailed analysis of all aspects of a company’s business, known as the due diligence. The paper briefly outlines the reasons for the due diligence, the participants, the method and the stages, with special accent on occupational safety. Care for employees is still not a typical pattern of behaviour for employers, but there is no question that occupational safety and health protection contribute to the stability and growth of a company. Occupational safety is an integral aspect of any business and, as such, it constitutes part of the business report that may indicate omissions and misapplication of the safety regulations and their consequences.
