Abstract
E-books, as the fastest growing segment in publishing, shows functionality expressed in accessibility, personal adaptation, ease of use and interactivity. In the process of innovation and development of electronic publishing, scientific thinking (projects) becomes the basis for further technological developments. The future of the printing industry and the e-publishing industry depends largely on the development of technologies and platforms that support new software solutions. It will create a new correlation in the production flow and communication between authors, publishers, booksellers, webshops and end users. The role of publishing takes on a new shape that complements the existing range of e-publications and lays the foundation of digitizing existing formats into a form that corresponds to electronic devices. Independent publishers are becoming a new variable that will determine the direction of digital publishing, aided and customized with e-typography for mobile devices. Cloud will provide the availability of all data via storage server, thus providing security for a new global network. Larger number of services will create conditions for an individual approach to e-publishing predicting that in 2020 there will be 50% of independent publishers. DRM (Digital Rights Management) with its encryption code is going to ensure the protection of intellectual property data. The aspect of security for publishers and authors presents essential information for selecting the publisher that will guarantee his safety and authenticity. Cloud 2020 will provide current view of all multimedia content that will be implemented in the e-book.
