Abstract

This paper explains energy efficiency of buildings. Energy certification of buildings, respectively classification and evaluation of buildings according to energy consumption, has recently become a legal obligation for all buildings in the real estate market in the Republic of Croatia. This can also play a key role in enhancing the quality of construction, integral consideration of the energy concept of new buildings and initiate systematic energy renewal and modernization of existing buildings. Measures for improving energy efficiency in buildings and reduction of energy consumption are present.
