Abstract

Radiological methods in the preoperative estimation of the bladder cancer invasiveness have a tendency towards overstating whereas clinical methods tend towards understating this invasiveness. 150 patients with different degrees of bladder cancer underwent preoperative intravesical echosonography, and in 81.4% of cases (122 patients) there was a correlation with the final diagnosis. For all stages of the bladder cancer invasiveness a high degree of accuracy has been found (85% in superficial bladder cancer, 69% in infiltrative bladder cancer and 100% in metastatic disease).
