Abstract
In this work testicular biopsies of infertile men with »Sertoli cells only« syndrome (15 azoospermic and 5 oligozoospermic ones) as well as control testicles of 10 health men were sterologically investigated. We have determined the values of outer surface of seminiferous tubules tunica propria and also the outer and inner surface of seminiferous tubules epithelium: a) per cubic millimeter of tissue; b) for the whole testicles. Per cubic millimeter of tissue none of the investigated surfaces was significantly different from the healthy controls (p > 0,05). On the contrary, in all testicles all three above mentioned total surfaces were significantly reduced in respect to the control group (p < 0,01).
