Abstract
We can conclude that the popularity of certain television genres could be understood as a reflection of modern society. The media manipulation strategies are certainly part of the representation in the media space, however, we should not ignore the broader picture: aware of the facts about financial and political capital that owns and thus controls the media, and as such it would be easy to deceive and manipulate the irresponsible consumer of media products, to remind itself of the heterogeneity of television viewing, but also of the kind of freedom of choice for receiving media / TV content. The changes that have taken place in the society over the course of 30-40 years redefine the understanding of the sphere of intimate and public, fiction and non-fiction, rational and emotional, and in all of this, the viewer is still the one who signs a kind of agreement on the consumption of media text. Joining such a relationship does not necessarily mean obedience to forces that acting from the top even though the maneuvering space for action from the people is becoming increasingly tense every day.
