Abstract

Ever Ever since his appearance in Croatian literature, Tribuson was accepted and loved by the literary public, while literary criticism had an ambivalent relation towards him. Today Tribuson has the status of a great and relevant literary name. He is not only the master of the genre, and a great narrator, but also an excellently informed intellectual, which can be seen from many metatextual segments in his stories and novels. Although diverse in genres, to the general public he is mostly known as a writer of crime novels. Since today, nobody has noticed that Tribuson indirectly anticipated the so-called Nordic-noir, a popular genre today, creatively defining all major subjects, motives and procedures found today in popular Scandinavian novels.
