Religion, Value Orientation, Young People
Esad Čimić
Abstract
By its inner structure, religion contains the roots of hope, and that hope is something that magically attracts people who had probably experienced the range of secular answers, which, at first, enchanted them, and then, in a situation where such fascination has left them – they were disappointed. Transgressing into the realm of transcendence, that hope does not forget to give some answers for this-worldly. That is exactly where it can slip away. If conjoining with this-worldly, religion does not satisfy people, many of them would leave the realm of transcendence. Morality becomes characteristic value of an individual that enables him/her to live as social being, and begins where human harmonize his/hers individuality with demands of common life. Seen through sociological prism, changes in values as well as changes inside religion are, as a rule, simultaneous, and not successive processes.
In a described atmosphere, the existence of rival value-systems in itself is mainly questionable. It is a question of degradation in values and of concealing of bare political interests between groups, conscientious in infectivity of their actions. That in-effectivity could be alleviated, if not removed, by putting the veil of value shape. The terrain of clash between them is regularly on the realm of political, where motives of theirs become clear, as well as of their agents. In each such case, it is necessary for science simply to show that it is not a question of value confrontation but of its simulation. Unmasking this process could be initial impulse, as well as basic point in ascending line of shaping the table of originary values.
Young people, whether religious ones or atheists, more and more, divide themselves by another foundation, leaving religious–atheists differentiation backyards. It is already now possible to anticipate the lines of these movements. If religion would be more moral than dogmatic, more personal than institutional, then its revitalization and quality ascendance would take place. Accompanying atheism would also become spiritually fertile.
