Abstract

The university textbook Uvod u urbanizam (Introduction to Urban Planning) was written by dr.sc. Ivan Mlinar, Associate Professor. It brings forward the basic topics of urban planning theory and practice that are indispensable for a proper understanding of the discipline and keeping up to date with the topical issues. The content of the textbook, presented in a clear and concise way and heavily illustrated with highquality graphic and visual material, is designed to help the students cope with the most challenging urban planning tasks during their studies. The textbook is thematically divided into three parts of which the first one is concerned with historical and theoretical topics, the second one deals with legal and technical issues while the third one is focused on practical urban planning issues. This textbook is a contribution to high-quality education of the future architects and other professionals involved in ever more complex and challenging processes of space management and development.
