Abstract

The 4th industrial revolution, or as it is usually
called, Industry 4.0, was initiated by Germany in
2011 and it represents an incentive for industry
development through production automation by
using all modern production means known as
cyber-physical-systems. These systems integrate
computing technique, dana transmission and
processing and modern mechanical systems.
In 2015 a new term Industry 5.0, emerged as a
response to Industry 4.0. It was at first a sortof a
rebellion against industry dehumanization which
grew into a concept of a cooperation between man
and robot in specific jobs.
It is sometimes said to be a return of „human
touch“ in production processes. The article points
out differences between Industry 4.0 and Industry
5.0 with the place and role of the new production
concept as well as thereasons for its use being
defined.
