CROATIAN ECONOMY IN THE INDEPENDENT STATE OF CROATIA

Abstract

The Independent State of Croatia had a series of weaknesses. Territorially it was an incomplete state, and its satellite position dictated its conduct on economic plan (manpower, raw materials, production). Many economic experts were engaged in organizing the economy. They created a system of »modernized economic life«, which might have functioned in a country with no war and no political mistakes. Destruction of traffic arteries and raw materials along with poverty of labour force ruined the economy of the country, to which the unfortunate political situation in the Balkans, but on the International plan as well, had also contributed.
