Abstract
When the straight consigned bill of lading is issued, carrier is obliged to deliver the goods to and only to the naming consignee. In this context straight consigned bill of lading is not a ''document of title''. The parties have a choice, exercisable by inclusion of the words ''order of'' before naming the consignee. ''Document of title'' is the antithesis of a document, which could evidence the title of only one person. A straight consigned bill of lading is not such a document of title.
