Two normative word-formation problems and their solutions

Abstract
The author uses problems of deriving adjectives from nouns indicating plants, and of
producing nominal gender pairs, in standard Croatian to il!ustrate the reaching of normative
so!utions. Tht amphasis is laid on systemic formations, though these are not
universally acceptabie because the system occasionalty requires the normative status
for formations of rare usage.
