Abstract

Assessment of changes in motor function in children with cerebral palsy is a complex measurement task. Although a variety of tests have been developed to quantify specific aspects of motor behaviour, systematic measurement of gross motor function is still a challenge. This paper critically reviews valid and clinically based evaluative measures that are used in randomised controlled trials in the field of cerebral palsy. The development and validation of responsive evaluative measures is essential for the assessment of evidence-based approaches in habilitation of children with cerebral palsy.
