Abstract

The goal of this paper is to explain and know the methods of smart packaging. The paper describes and explains the concept of active and smart packaging. Also in this paper are some of the main types of intelligent packaging such as packaging with integrity indicators, freshness, temperature and storage time. Also there is a description of gas sensors, particular oxygen sensors, biosensors and radio frequency identification. Active packagings include systems for reducing oxygen, CO2 and moisture levels and antimicrobial packagings. Contemporary consumers require high-quality foods that retain sensory properties and are health-safe.Packaging is very important for quality assurance and therefore new packaging materials and packaging are found to meet the increasingly rigorous demands of customers. One of the newer packaging methods is packaging in intelligent and active packages
