Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate the relative effectiveness of a well-organized physical education program on I. Q. and academic achievement scores. The experimental treatment namely the well-organized physical education program was applied to the experimental group; while the already existing physical education program was administered to the control group. The physical education program associated with the experimental group consisted of a daily period for a whole academic year, with emphasis devoted to the coordination and balance components.
A well-organized physical education program had no effect on I. Q. scores. However, it had a favorable effect on academic achievement scores.
