Abstract

In our paper we analyze Žižek's atheist-materialistic understanding of Hegel's philosophy of the incarnation of God. We focus on the concepts of the monstrosity of Christ and revelation of God’s death on the cross. In doing so, we emphasize the Christologically problematic points of such an approach, which rests both on the unfounded psychologization of the content of theology, and on the contradiction between the intra-divine/essential and economic/salvific understanding of Trinity.
