Abstract

Banknotes of 20 dinars/80 crowns (1919 issue), which were in circulation from February 1919 to April 1921, were the most frequently forged banknotes from the dinar/crown issue of the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes and one of the most frequently forged Croatian banknotes. The money of the Kingdom SCS was often forged for illegal gain, with more or less success, in greater or smaller amounts, in the country or abroad, by individuals or groups. Because of ignorance or carelessness, especially of the rural population, forgers managed to circulate large amounts of the well-made forgeries, and also those that were not so well made. The article gives the descriptions of the forged 20 dinar/80 crown banknote of the Kingdom SCS published in the contemporary Croatian press.
