Abstract

The researcher has collected information about the donation of money with which the conservator, the Rev. Frane Bulić, brought to fruition his plan to change the Baroque altar of St Domnius in the then cathedral church of Split. His idea began to be implemented with the demolition of the former archiepiscopal palace, which was on the northern side of the church. This opened up a broader view onto this part of the church, and the conservator thus wanted to harmonise as far as he could the appearance of the periptery of Diocletian’s Mausoleum with the original Antique appearance, which had been altered in the Baroque. He did this by organising the donation of money for the operation. This writer has compiled a list of donors and has found the basic information about most of them.
