Abstract

The sample of 160 female subject aged 16 served to investigate the correlation between morphological and functional characteristics and motor abilities.
Correlation analysis between the group of morphological and functional characteristics and the group of motor abilities indicated a moderate correlation between them.
A greater correlation between these two groups in undoubtedly influenced by morphological variables of height and weight of the body and functional variables of the maximum relative oxygen intake and heart frequency in standing and sitting position. In the motor group the following variables were prominent: 50 m race, broad jump and the 1600 m race. The variables for measuring respiratory functions, vital capacity of the lungs and forced expiratory volume in the first second are in cross-correlation with the 50 m race and broad jump, while the motor variable of trunk lifting in 25 seconds is not in correlation with any morphological and functional variables.
