The relations between some motor dimensions and achievement in youth soccer

Abstract

A sample of 82 junior soccer players from teams in the First and Second National Soccer League, aged 16 to 18, in the SAP Vojvodina Served to register 15 variables for assessment to hypothetical factors of explosive strength, precision and agility. Their achieve in playing were separately registered by means of a seven-mark scale.
The results of regression analysis showed that achievements soccer can with great certainty be predicted on the basis of results in motor tests. The greatest contribution in prediction were tests whose separate elements were similar to those in soccer play.
