The non-evidence of God in the World of Nature
Abstract
According to Vatican I Constitution De Fide Catholica the truth of the catholic belief is that men can, watching the nature, only by means of the powers of their mind, reveal the God, „the Beginning and the End of all things“.The Council evocates St. Paul Rom 1,1-20: „For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead.“ In the history of phylosophy and theology the world of nature is seen as the book written by the Digit of God, like the Bible, but in the metaphorical book of nature, the letters, words and nouns are the geometrical figures (points, triangles, circles etc.) what the science translates in arithmetical forms of the rules and laws of nature. In the article the nature of mathematics is discussed as the product of human mind and the means of the scientific investigation of the world structure. The author inferes that the evidence of God's presence in his work, after the great progress of science, is the same as it was before because the human reason doesn't achieve a deductive evidence. He especially relates on the mathematics of the deterministic chaos which is the best instance in which it is evident how the reality of nature is for us strongly causal(deterministic), but in essence must be indeterministic because it is adequately describable only by nonlinear differencial equations. General inference: the evidence if the „traces of God“ (the Biblical vestigia Dei), on the basis of the great amount of our scientific knowledge of nature is not greater than it was in the past. We have inductive logical security what explains the phenomenon of atheism. The Christian believers remain in their own specific existential condition to give a live testimony for the presence of God in the sense of Mt. 25, because the Paschal Mistery of Christ is actually in everyday practice, and so only the non-evidence of God in the World transmutes in the evidence. In the betraying of Christians the Vatican II sees one of the causes of modern atheism.
