Abstract

On the sample of 106 female handball players, members of 10 Federal League teams, sociometric, psychological and chronological characteristics (as predictor variables) were measured in order to investigate their relation to playing quality judged by ten independent judges (criterion variable).
The analysis of the results showed that system of predictor variables explained about 40% of the criterion variable variance and that multiple correlation coefficient was 0.63.
It was suggested to introduce some more anthropometric, functional, motoric, cognitive, conative and sociological variables in order to enlarge the predictive value of the system of variables and to ensure more useful information about the playing quality of female handball players.
