Abstract

On the sample of 126 junior volleyball players, 18-20 years old, extracted from the population of Yugoslav representatives, 16 anthropometric variables were assesed. The aim was to investigate their relation to the height of jump and maximal hand reach in special volleyball jumps.
Anthropometric dimensions could be explained by three anthropometric factors as follows : longitudinal skeletal dimensions (L), subcutane fat tissue (M) and circular body dimension (V).
By means of regression analysis the relations between manifest and latent anthropometric dimensions and the height of jump and the (0.55) and the height of hand reach in jump (0.76) were found.
Also were found significant multiple correlation coefficients between latent anthropometric variables and height of hand reach (0.76) were found.
It could be concluded that longitudinal and circular dimensions contributed significantly to the prediction of the results of jump and maximal hand reach in jump.
