Abstract

In this text is offerred the cathegorial clarification of “civil society” and “political culture”, as well as of their essential interconnection in the framework of constitutional democracy. In the context of analysis of civil society, democratic political culture and the bipolar paradigm “civil society-legal state”, special attention is paid to the building of republican elements into liberal tradition and model of a developed democratic order. There is also pointed to an importance of a continuous democratization of civil society (emancipatory activism on the basis of the principles of autonomy, associativity and publicity), as well as the promotion of democratic political culture (development of civic virtues based on the principles of tolerance, non-violence, solidarity, freedom, equality, justice) for establishing and perfectuating the constitutional democracy.
