Abstract

The aim of this paper is to research and analyse the initiatives of the European Union, through its policies and mechanisms in the field of innovation in education, but also to provide an overview and interpretation of the position of the Republic of Croatia on the Global Innovation Index (GII) for 2020. The European Union, as a community of regions, in fact secure the form and rough content of initiatives, but also the resources (mostly financial), in order to implement some of its policies in education. Thus, in fact, most of the “doing” in the field of innovation are on the system, but also on every institution, legal or natural person that implements initiatives, measures and activities in the field.
