Abstract
The main feature of the information age is information technology that has enabled fast and efficient transfer of information. Information technology encompasses computers, communication equipment, and related services, and the basic strength of the information age is the invention of the Internet, which was crucial in the emergence of new forms of business, communication, and learning. Informatization also affects educational institutions where the use of modern information technology begins with the aim of promoting the improvement of the quality of education, reform of teaching methods and ways of learning, and the establishment of new educational processes. Improving the quality of education affects student satisfaction, which is the purpose of this paper to explore, analyse and explain how the computerization of teaching and extracurricular activities of universities and colleges affects the overall satisfaction of students with student life. The research was conducted on a sample of students from the University of Split. Attention is focused on how informatization has improved teaching methods of learning, how the transfer of information between teaching staff and students has accelerated, and other factors that have influenced changes directly related to student satisfaction and students’ academic success. In addition, the impact of informatization on increasing satisfaction with extracurricular activities was investigated, where special attention was paid to the availability of the Unispot application created by the University of Split, which aims to provide information to students about extracurricular activities. The results of the research determined the specifics of the impact, taking into account various control variables and various forms of informatization, and finally concluded that students believe that informatization of teaching and extracurricular activities and informatization of education in general, leads to increased student satisfaction with education.
