Development characteristics of general motor ability in elementary school students

Abstract

The analysis of results of the first principal components of intercorrelation matrices between seven measures of motor and functional abilities has shown a stable dimension among elementary school students of both sexes, in all groups, aged 11-18 which can be interpreted as general physical or motor ability. The structure of this ability varies according to age and sex, but their influence on motor efficacy declines with age.
