FAO group of milk experts have observed for several years how Milk Day is celebrated, mainly at the end of May or at the beginning of June, in some countries. The same group emphasised the need to celebrate World Milk Day, which was afterwards founded three years ago on the 1st June. In Croatia this campaign was governed by prof. Jasmina Havranek. Each country has its own way how to celebrate this day. So, for example in Germany a Milk Day will be dedicated to fitness and nutrition with emphasises on milk and dairy products consumption in a well-balanced diet. Each year a different person is a patron, so this year that is Uschi Disl, well known biathlon, whose motto is «Milch beewegt – die milch macht's». Each country chooses its own way, in cooperation with the local and national media, accompanied with appropriate brochures and donors organising programme. So, let's find our own motto to celebrate World Milk Day, and to show all its advantages.
