Abstract
The paper presents a determination of length-weight relations and the fitness factor for Prussian carp from three reservoirs (Modrac, Vidara and Sniježnica), which are located in south-eastern Bosnia-Herzegovina. Material and methods: The total sample comprised of 80 specimens. The measurements of the total and standard body length and body weight were conducted in the field by using ichthyometerand decimal scale. The univariate analysis of variance (ANOVA) was applied during statistical processing for determining the differences in morphometric
characteristics of the used specimens from the three locations(differences among population samples). Results: The largest average total length was observed in the Prussian carp from the reservoir Vidara. The body weight of the Prussian carp from the reservoirs Modrac and Vidara is significantly higher (p<0.05) when compared to those from the reservoir Sniježnica. Conclusions:It can be concluded thatthe body length and body weightof the Prussian carpfrom the reservoirs Modrac and Vidara is significantly larger (p<0.05)when compared to those from the reservoir Sniježnica. The Prussian carp from the reservoirs Modrac and Vidara has undergone positive allometric growth, which has been negative in the Prussian carp from the reservoir Sniježnica.
